The 3rd award was for the Best Basement, Residential Interior Award.

The primary goal in designing this space was to create a living "atmosphere" that was as appealing, if not more so, than the upstairs living areas of this home. This client did not just want a "basement," they wanted a complete lower-level to their home. A "1/2 turn" iron steps were installed to accommodate the lack of lower ceiling height. A work-out area and a children's stage area over 400 square feet were created to be both usable and appealing. The open floor plan in this area allows comfortable viewing for more than 75 people.

Monarch Construction purchases their new building at the intersection of DeKalb Pike (Rte 202) and Township Line Road in E. Norriton. This former Hair Salon with an open floor plan and 3 story entryway was the perfect space to be a unique office and display area for clients. Originally this building was a Power House for very heavy generation equipment so the building structure is solid as a rock, just like Monarch. Renovations begin........

AppleMark Monarch was awarded both the Best Commercial Interior award in this year's Contractor of the Year Awards (COtY). This open and airy dental office is filled with
unique construction details such as curved soffits and walls, arched doorways and sidelights on walls and partitions for additional light filtration. By using materials such as granite countertops and unique
doors and trim, we achieved a fine detailed look for this Abington dental office.
11/08   Joe and his son, CJ (age 16) traveled to Bay, St. Louis with other local NARI Chapter members and CityTeam volunteers. During their 5-day stay, they continued to “clean up” from the Katrina tragedy and continued the rebuilding efforts. One of the projects the team focused on was the home of a prominent artist, Lori Gordon and her husband.  Their home was originally destroyed by Katrina; it was rebuilt, just to be ruined 2 years later by Hurricane Gustav. They now moved further from the coast, which was home to our team’s main focus of renovation.

A grateful Mrs. Gordon and her husband hosted a dinner the night before our departure stating that the work which was completed by our crew in the one week, would have taken them 3 years. Mrs. Gordon’s artwork can be viewed with the following link:  http://thekatrinacollectionbylorikgordon.blogspot.com/

1/07   Monarch was awarded both the Best Commercial Interior award and Best Kitchen over $100,000 in this year's Contractor of the Year Awards (COtY).

Monarch's award for Best Commercial Interior was for a Dental Practice in Malvern. From the faux stone wall to the fireplace, the partners' goal of a warm yet professional office was achieved. Their previous space was dark and lacking light. This office was designed to maximize daylight throughout the treatment rooms and staff area. The staff is overjoyed to be working in this new daylight filled space.

Monarch's last residential project won COtY accolades as the best Kitchen over $100,000. The beauty was unsurpassed by it's competitors and the overall look was stunning. Monarch is leaving the residential construction market in order to fully focus on commercial clients.

Joe Karoly traveled to Bay St. Louis Mississippi with several NARI Members to help with the Katrina rebuilding effort. Bucks Mont NARI Katrina Relieft Project, an association of businesses, community groups and religious organizations, is focusing their efforts on helping families in the Bay Saint Loius and Waveland area in Hancock County, Mississippi, where the eye of the storm hit. They have introduced the Adopt-A-Family program and identified families who are receiving little or no help from the government or insurance providers to rebuild their uninhabitable homes. During Joe's trip, the team worked on the house of an 88 year old woman who has fostered more than 450 children in her lifetime. Her husband was a preacher at the church that they built next to their house. During Katrina, she was brought from her home by boat to the church roof with many others. She was trapped there for three days before being rescued to a shelter. In her town, the tidal surge reached 41 feet and destroyed every building.
